FC Nantes sale agreement reportedly signed with Phenix sports invest group | OneFootball

FC Nantes are understood to be nearing a change of ownership, with a sale agreement said to have been signed on Tuesday. It comes 19 years after Waldemar Kita bought the club.

According to L'Équipe, the Kita family have agreed in principle to cede control to a pool of investors led by entrepreneur and sporting adviser Paulo Tavares.

Tavares heads Phenix sports invest, an offshoot of Phenix capital in Luxembourg, which is said to bring together investors from France, Portugal and Luxembourg. The document is understood to be a sale protocol, the final step before completion, implying the Kitas have secured firm guarantees.

The plan must be reviewed by the club’s works council and by the DNCG. The next DNCG stage could lead to approval of the transaction.

The price could be around €100m excluding bonuses, tied to a project aimed at installing a new development model for the Canaris. Tavares had previously been linked with unrealised takeovers at Valenciennes and Saint-Etienne.
