Froholdt, Pablo Rosario and Inbeom have been called up by their countries, leaving Francesco Farioli light in FC Porto’s midfield for the looming international break. The picture would be tougher were it not for Fofana’s decision to stop playing for Ivory Coast.
Denmark face Wales twice, plus Norway and Portugal, with the last game in Cardiff. Denmark coach Brian Riemer said on Tuesday they have maintained close contact over the head-injury protocol and that Froholdt has progressed well, so they had no doubts about his readiness.
Pablo Rosario and Inbeom each have four fixtures, minute management rests with their national managers. Both will clock significant air miles and are due back only a few days before Porto travel to Madeira to face Marítimo.
The Dominican Republic host Nicaragua and Haiti and visit Trinidad and Tobago and Nicaragua in the CONCACAF Nations League. The itinerary totals roughly 19,000 kilometres in flights, with the final match away on 5 October.
South Korea play friendlies in Seoul against Ecuador, Uruguay, Venezuela and Uzbekistan. Seoul is more than 10,000 kilometres from Porto, and the return will be after 6 October.
Centre-back Prpic has been selected by Croatia Under-21s. More Porto call-ups are expected in the coming days, at least Diogo Costa, Bednarek and Kiwior, with Pietuszewski and Gimenez also in contention.
