FC Utrecht bring in Norwegian winger on loan from Lille

FC Utrecht have announced the signing of Marius Broholm on loan from Ligue 1 side Lille. The 21-year-old winger has signed on loan for the season without a purchase option included. Broholm only joined Lille last summer from Rosenborg but now joins Utrecht as a means to get some first team football, with chances limited for him at the Ligue 1 side currently.

Broholm made his debut for Rosenborg as a teenager during the 2021 Eliteserien season. He went on to play over 50 games for the club, scoring 14 goals, with a successful loan spell at Kristiansund during the 2023 campaign in which he scored seven goals in 28 games. Lille gave Broholm a contract until 2030 last summer and clearly see him as a player they want to remain invested in, but want him to get more football under his belt out on loan at Utrecht. Last season Broholm played 14 games for Lille across Ligue 1 and the Europa League. He scored twice and provided one assist. Broholm is also a regular for Norway’s U21 squad.
