Wolves face key calls before January, with Fer Lopez's future under scrutiny as Rob Edwards attempts to sort an underperforming first team.
According to The Athletic, it is likely Wolves will look to send the attacking midfielder back to Spain for the second half of the season. The hope is that regular minutes would build his value before either a return to Wolves in the Championship, another loan, or a possible sale next summer.
Lopez has struggled to kickstart his Molineux career after arriving from Celta Vigo in the summer. Celta Vigo’s sporting director has expressed a wish to bring him back, though nothing is concrete.
He has made 10 appearances in all competitions, with no goals and one assist. He has mostly come off the bench, with only three starts. The club still rates his long-term potential, but a January loan appears the likeliest route to revive his prospects.
Relegation from the Premier League is looking extremely likely, and departures could follow. Jorgen Strand Larsen and Joao Gomes have been linked with West Ham, while Jackson Tchatchoua is tipped for Juventus or Inter Milan. An overhaul now looks unavoidable.
