Feyenoord reward Aymen Sliti with new contract and also bring Dirk Kuyt’s nephew into the first team squad | OneFootball

Aymen Sliti will stay with Feyenoord for a few more years. As the Algemeen Dagblad report, the 19-year-old winger’s contract was due to expire at De Kuip, but he has now signed until the summer of 2029.

“This has been an incredible six months for me,” Sliti said on the club website. “From my debut against Inter in the Champions League and the daily training sessions at 1908, to signing my new contract and being named in the squad. I feel the confidence and see this not only as a reward, but above all as enormous motivation.”

Sliti joined from FC Twente’s youth academy in 2020 and made his official debut for Feyenoord last March, starting against Inter in the Champions League round of 16. The following weekend, he made his first Eredivisie appearance and scored a goal against FC Twente.

“As a young player, I was exposed to the highest level from the very first moment in the first team, so I know what I’m doing it for. Whatever it takes, I want to succeed in this shirt, at this club. This is my home.”

He won the European Championship with the Dutch national team under-19 last summer and came on as a substitute for half an hour against Heerenveen last weekend. Now, he has been rewarded and, along with defender Jan Plug, is now part of Feyenoord’s first team squad.

Jan Plug is the nephew of Feyenoord legend Dirk Kuyt. Born in Katwijk, the 20-year-old Plug made his debut for ‘Feyenoord 1’ last season, coming on as a substitute in the dying embers against RKC Waalwijk.
