Fiorentina have set their sights on Johan Bakayoko as they continue their search for a wide attacker, with intermediaries already at work on a possible move for the Belgian.

According to La Nazione, the Viola are targeting a loan with a conditional obligation to buy, the condition being that Fabio Grosso’s side qualify for Europe next season.

It is described as a complex operation with Leipzig, but the structure is one Fiorentina hope can make the numbers work for a player of Bakayoko’s profile.

The interest comes amid a flurry of outgoing business at the Viola Park. The same report notes that Alessandro Bianco has joined Modena permanently for €1 million, with Fiorentina retaining a 50% sell-on clause, while defender Mirko Elia has moved to Bari and forward Filippo Distefano has signed for Empoli.

The trimming of the fringes underlines how active Fiorentina have been this summer, with Grosso’s squad reshaped at pace on both fronts.
