Five RBL players away on international duty

The first international break of the season is set to take place from 21st September to 6th October. Several Red Bulls will be away with their respective national teams, with UEFA Nations League matches, AFCON qualifiers and various friendlies all part of the fixture schedule.

The various national association are expected to announce their squads over the course of this week. Nicolas Seiwald (Austria), Ezechiel Banzuzi (DR Congo), Willi Orbán (Hungary), Antonio Nusa and Ørjan Nyland (both Norway) have all already received their call-ups.

Nicolas Seiwald (Austria)

Head coach Ralf Rangnick has once again called up Nici Seiwald, with the midfielder a key cog in Austria's midfield. The 25-year-old is still waiting for his first goal for RBL, after scoring his maiden goal for the national team against Ghana earlier this year.

After being part of the squad at EURO 2024, Nici also took part in his first World Cup this past summer. Our number 13 featured for the full distance of all three group stage matches at the tournament and played a key part in Austria reaching the round of 32. He was taken off at half-time in their 3-0 defeat to eventual champions Spain.

Antonio Nusa and Ørjan Nyland (Norway)

Both Antonio Nusa and Ørjan Nyland have been included in head coach Ståle Solbakken squad once again.

Norway enjoyed a historic run at the World Cup this past summer, reaching the quarter-finals. They eliminated the likes of record champions Brazil along the way (2-1), before losing to England in the quarters (2-1 a.e.t.).

Willi Orbán (Hungary)

Willi Orbán remains a key figure at the heart of the RB Leipzig defence and continues to also be an important player for Hungary. Head coach Marco Rossi has included the defender in his squad for the upcoming Nations League matches.

After failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA, Hungary are now seeking to get back to winning ways in the Nations League. Orbán, who turns 34 in November, is eyeing up a successful qualification to the 2028 European Championships with his country.

Ezechiel Banzuzi (DR Congo)

After representing the Netherlands at youth level, Ezechiel Banzuzi has since declared for DR Congo. He has been called up to the senior squad for the first time by head coach Sébastien Desabre. DR Congo enjoyed a strong run at the World Cup, being eliminated after a narrow defeat to England in the round of 32 (2-1).

Banzuzi put in strong performances during pre-season and has started four of five competitive games under Martín Demichelis this term (1 goal, 2 assists). DR Congo will now play two qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, as well as two friendlies against Uganda.
