Gonzalo Plata said goodbye to Flamengo team-mates on Friday at Ninho do Urubu as the club finalised his sale to Dynamo Moscow.

According to Globo.com, the agreement is around 10 million euros, about R$ 60.1 million, plus a further two million euros, roughly R$ 12 million, in bonuses.

He could travel alongside Botafogo forward Matheus Martins, who has also been sold to the Russian club, and the pair will miss Sunday’s derby at the Maracanã.

Flamengo had not planned to part with Plata, a starter for Leonardo Jardim, but his camp pushed for a salary increase after the World Cup or a move to Europe. He also drew interest from Mexican clubs, though his preference was Europe.

The club wanted him available against Botafogo, but his representatives opposed that idea. Paperwork was expected to be formalised and signed on Friday, with the trip set for Saturday.

Signed from Al-Sadd in the second half of 2024 for US$ 9.1 million, Plata leaves with 100 appearances, nine goals and 13 assists. He won six trophies, Copa do Brasil 2024, Libertadores 2025, Brasileiro 2025, Supercopa 2025 and Carioca 2025 and 2026.
