Flamengo were cleared by Supreme Court justice Luiz Fux to join the action against Brazil’s betting Provisional Measure as amicus curiae, while the club’s schedule remains paused by the Super Data FIFA window, according to Coluna Do Fla.
Provisional Measure 1.394/2026, signed by President Lula on Friday 25, bans the offer and advertising of online betting nationwide. Flamengo are among the most exposed because Betano are the main shirt sponsor.
Vasco president Pedrinho said on Wednesday 30 he would go to court to stage the second leg against Boca Juniors at the Maracanã on 20 October, a tie that decides a Copa Sudamericana final place. The move follows another refusal from the Maracanã Consortium, run by Flamengo and Fluminense, and the stadium operates under a Rio de Janeiro state concession.
Flamengo’s head of medical, Fernando Sassaki, outlined the wrist fracture sustained by Arrascaeta on Uruguay duty, explaining the reason for surgery and giving an estimated recovery time.
The midfielder was injured in Uruguay’s 4-1 win over South Korea, losing balance without contact and landing on his left wrist. Scans then confirmed a fracture and the need for an operation.
