Flamengo have reached the CBF foreign-player limit after completing the signings of Anthony Valencia and Joaquin Freitas.
According to Coluna Do Fla, clubs are permitted nine foreigners in CBF competitions, and Flamengo have now filled all available slots for the Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil.
The list comprises Rossi and Freitas, both Argentine, Varela, De La Cruz and Arrascaeta, all Uruguayan, Pulgar of Chile, Saúl, who arrived from Spain this season, Carrascal of Colombia, and Valencia of Ecuador.
Jorginho holds Italian and Brazilian nationality, so he does not count towards the foreign allocation recognised by the CBF.
The Libertadores imposes no limit on overseas players, so Flamengo can register and field as many as they wish in the continental competition. The restriction applies only to domestic tournaments.
Valencia and Freitas are already training with the squad but still require CBF registration to play. The club are working to complete their paperwork on Tuesday 01 to make a debut against Mirassol possible, though there is no guarantee they will be ready in time.
With the quota full, any further overseas addition for domestic action would require a departure. Even so, Leonardo Jardim has ample options to vary his tactical approach while the new arrivals continue their integration.
