Flamengo have signed Argentine striker Joaquín Freitas from River Plate, handing the 19-year-old a contract through 2031.

Speaking to the club’s website, Freitas said he is inspired by Flamengo’s size and support, promised to give everything and fight for every ball as if it were the last, and hopes to bring joy to the fans. He added he is eager to experience the Maracanã packed with supporters.

The fee is around seven million dollars, R$ 36.4 million, plus two million dollars, R$ 10.4 million, in bonuses. The transfer could reach nine million dollars, R$ 46.8 million. He will wear the number 30 shirt.
