According to Globo.com, Flamengo will seek legal redress after Dynamo Moscow cancelled the sale of Plata citing a failed medical, accusing the Russian club of amateurism and irresponsibility, denying any clinical issue and saying their medical staff have cleared him with no history of serious injuries, and warning that the episode should alert Brazilian football over future dealings with Russia.

Plata is travelling back to Rio de Janeiro for reintegration and will miss Wednesday’s match against Mirassol at 19:30 Brasília time at the Maracanã.

Both Plata and Matheus Martins travelled to Moscow and featured on Dynamo’s social media platforms.

Contracts were to be signed only after medicals, and Dynamo had committed to paying both transfer fees up front.

Dynamo also withdrew from a move for Matheus Martins on Tuesday, again citing a failed medical.

Flamengo had expected to receive about 10 million euros, approximately R$ 60 million, for Plata.
