Youssouf Fofana will join Sevilla on loan from AC Milan, with no option to buy. According to La Colina De Nervion, the late move completes an overhaul featuring 11 arrivals and 16 departures.

The 27-year-old pivot had been close to Olympique Lyonnais, but that avenue collapsed, creating an opportunity Sevilla seized near the registration cut-off. The deal was indirectly linked to a domino from Nicolás Tagliafico’s stalled switch to Atlético Madrid.

Sevilla’s summer work brought Odysseas Vlachodimos and Fran González in goal, Juan Iglesias, Arouna Sangante and Julio Díaz in defence, and Fofana, Jon Guridi and Kochorashvili in midfield. Félix Correia, Robbie Ure and Lucas Stassin strengthened the attack.

Born in Paris in 1999, Fofana came through in France, debuting with RC Strasbourg before joining AS Monaco in January 2020. He made more than 140 appearances for Monaco.

He moved to Milan in August 2024 for around €26 million, has featured close to 90 times and won the Italian Super Cup. Fofana is a France international with 25 caps, appearing at World Cups and European Championships.
