Sevilla FC have signed France international defensive midfielder Youssouf Fofana (27) from AC Milan, both clubs have announced. The former AS Monaco midfielder was initially understood to be joining Ligue 1 side Lyon. But Les Gones‘ move for the 27-year-old French midfielder has collapsed due to the unresolved future of Malick Fofana (21). With the Belgian international midfielder’s future still in the balance, OL have had to pull out of the deal to sign the French international midfielder due to being unable to register him if the 21-year-old isn’t sold.

Sevilla FC pounced and secured a loan deal with AC Milan. Fofana’s loan move to the Rojiblancos does not include an option to buy. Fofana joined AC Milan from AS Monaco for a €26m transfer fee back in the summer of 2024. He went on to feature 88 times for I Rossoneri, but the 27-year-old has been informed by Milan head coach Ruben Amorim that he was not part of his plans for the season.
