Former Brentford striker Ivan Toney charged with assault | OneFootball

Former Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm after an alleged incident at a central London nightclub.

The 30-year-old is accused of assaulting a man at a venue on Wardour Street in Soho on 6 December 2025. Hounslow Herald reports he was charged on 31 July and is due at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 24 September.

Through a spokesperson, Toney acknowledges the charge, is naturally shocked, and looks forward to the opportunity to clear his name in court.

Toney spent four seasons at Brentford after joining from Peterborough United in 2020.

He hit a Championship record 31 league goals in 2020-21, then scored twice in the play-offs as the Bees reached the Premier League for the first time.

Of his 72 Brentford goals, 36 came in the Premier League, including 20 in 2022-23.

He served an eight-month suspension and was fined £50,000 in 2023 for 232 breaches of the FA's betting rules, returning in January 2024.

After representing England at Euro 2024, he joined Al-Ahli in August 2024 in a £40m deal. He was later named in Thomas Tuchel's 2026 World Cup squad but did not feature.
