Former Brentford striker Ivan Toney charged with assault | OneFootball

Former Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm after an alleged incident at a central London nightclub. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 24 September.

According to Hounslow Herald, the charge follows accusations that a man was assaulted at a Wardour Street venue in Soho on 6 December 2025, when Toney was playing in Saudi Arabia. The 30-year-old was charged on 31 July.

Through a spokesperson, Toney said he acknowledges the charge, is naturally shocked, and looks forward to the opportunity to clear his name in court.

Toney joined Brentford from Peterborough United in 2020, scoring a Championship-record 31 league goals in 2020-21 and two more in the play-offs to secure promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history.

He registered 72 goals for the Bees, 36 of them in the Premier League, including 20 in 2022-23. In 2023 he received an eight-month ban and a £50,000 fine after admitting 232 breaches of the FA's betting rules, then returned in January 2024.

After featuring for England at Euro 2024, he completed a £40m move to Al-Ahli in August 2024. He was named in Thomas Tuchel's 2026 World Cup squad but did not play.
