France reveal why Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe missed training | OneFootball

After an incredible last season with Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe has started the new season in quite a mixed fashion. The Frenchman has scored eight goals and provided two assists in eight games so far, but was unable to score or influence the game much in any other way, in the derby against Atletico Madrid.

The star forward is currently with the French national team, as he was named by the new coach, Zinedine Zidane, to the squad for his team’s matches in the September international break.

However, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, after joining the national team camp on Monday, Mbappe was unable to train with his teammates for the first two days. On Monday, he missed training because he had played the game against Atletico only on Sunday, and needed time to rest. Then he also missed the next session as he was suffering from a flu-like problem, according to the French Football Federation.

The statement from the federation also revealed that the Real Madrid star is currently on bed rest, but no recovery time was stipulated. Anyway, he remains a doubt for France’s first game with Zinedine Zidane in charge, against Turkiye, which will also be the Blues’ opening game in UEFA Nations League group stage.

Following this match against the Turks, France will play three more games during this international break, twice against Belgium and once against Italy, all in the UEFA Nations League. For now, it remains to be seen when Kylian Mbappe will be able to feature for his national team, while other Merengue players like Eduardo Camavinga and Ibrahima Konate will be available for Zidane.

Hopefully, he will be able to get back to his best form and return to Real Madrid without any problems after helping his national team secure passage to the next stage of the UEFA Nations League.
