World Champions Spain are in action this month for the first time since lifting the World Cup in the summer as they begin their UEFA Nations League campaign.

La Roja, led by manager Luis de la Fuente, will take on England, Croatia (twice), and Czechia in the three-week international break which will get underway after this weekend.

And, the Spain boss has announced the squad list of players who will be at his disposal for the four Nations League matches, with two Real Madrid stars being called up.

Marc Cucurella, who was a key part of the Spain squad that won the World Cup in North America, continues to feature in the manager’s plans.

Meanwhile, there is a recall for young defender Dean Huijsen, who has forced his way back into the national team setup on the back of a strong start to the season.

Indeed, Huijsen, who was not called up for the World Cup after a disappointing run of form in the second half of the last season, has been one of Real Madrid’s better players this term, excelling under Jose Mourinho.

It has earned him a place in the Spain national team squad for the upcoming matches.

However, new signing Carlos Espi is not included despite there being murmurs of a potential maiden call-up for the striker. Instead, he will be a part of the Spain U-21 squad for the upcoming international break.
