Aleksandar Pavlovic is heading into the new season with big ambitions. The 22-year-old wants to take on even more responsibility in FC Bayern’s midfield and, above all, exude courage and authority. At the same time, the Munich native has explained why playing for the record champions remains something very special to him to this day.
Hardly any other professional on the current roster embodies the connection to FC Bayern as much as Aleksandar Pavlovic. The midfielder is from Munich, has been a Bayern fan since childhood, and has come up through nearly the entire youth system of the German record champions.
Pavlovic joined the Munich club at the age of seven. However, as he himself admits, it wasn’t until much later that he realized this could eventually lead to a career with the first team.
“The club was already close to my heart when I joined FC Bayern at the age of seven. I grew up in Munich, have always been a Bayern fan, and played for every youth team the club has,” Pavlovic explained in an interview with the club’s media.
It wasn’t until the U19s that the midfielder began to seriously believe he could make the leap to the pros. “It wasn’t until the U19s that I first realized I had a real chance to make it as a professional player at my favorite club. Today, it’s something very special for me—a dream come true—to play for my hometown club,” emphasized the German national team player.
For Pavlovic, it’s long since been about more than just being part of the first team. The youngster has established himself in the professional squad under Vincent Kompany and is one of the players on whom Munich hopes to build its future.
However, competition is particularly fierce in central midfield. Alongside Joshua Kimmich, Tom Bischof also wants to take on a bigger role following Leon Goretzka’s departure. For Pavlovic, this is clearly an added incentive.

In any case, the 22-year-old has set his sights high for the new season. Pavlovic not only wants to rack up playing time but also increasingly become the one setting the pace in Bayern’s midfield.
“I want to play with courage. I want everyone to see that I’m not afraid of anything or anyone, and I want to show the world what I’m capable of,” the Munich native explained confidently.
Pavlovic is very specific about the areas in which he wants to take the next step in his development: “I want to control the game, make it my own, and exude composure and authority. I want to involve my teammates in the game and work tirelessly for the team.”
These statements show that Pavlovic no longer sees himself as a young player who has to earn his place on the Bayern roster. Rather, he wants to take on responsibility himself in the future and shape the record champions’ play from the center of the field.
His personal story lends a special touch to this ambition. From a seven-year-old Bayern fan on campus to an established pro at the Allianz Arena, Pavlovic has gone through nearly every stage of his career at FCB. Now he wants to turn his childhood dream into a long-term success story.
