After their Copa Sudamericana exit, and with only the Campeonato Brasileiro remaining, the club chose the surgical route. The operation is planned for next week, following Saturday’s game. As a result, his involvement this weekend remains in doubt.

Without Brazão, Santos have three goalkeeping options, with Diogenes the primary understudy who has already played on several occasions. João Paulo is available.
