Gabriel Martinelli joins Al-Hilal on four-year deal after six years at Arsenal | OneFootball

Gabriel Martinelli left Premier League champions Arsenal on Thursday to join Al-Hilal on a deal running to 2030. According to The Athletic, the fee is close to €70m.

He departs after 278 appearances for the Gunners, a spell that included a Champions League final defeat and the club's first league title since 2004.

With the English transfer window shut, Arsenal must now wait until the winter window to recruit a specialist left winger to support Christos Tzolis.

Martinelli becomes Al-Hilal's third signing from the Premier League this summer, following Crysencio Summerville's move from West Ham for more than €60m.

The gap left by Karim Benzema's departure, after he was recently released from his contract, had already been filled by Ollie Watkins, signed from Aston Villa for €58m.
