Gorka Guruzeta available for derby, Iñigo Lekue banned for two matches | OneFootball

Athletic have added two suspensions to an injury list that already runs to up to 10 players. Iñigo Lekue will miss the next two league matches, while Gorka Guruzeta is ruled out of one.

According to AS, Lekue has been given a two-match ban by the RFEF disciplinary committee following his dismissal for dissent against Mallorca at Son Moix last Saturday. He will sit out Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán and the derby with Real Sociedad at San Mamés, after being shown a red card by referee Guzmán Mansilla.

Guruzeta was sent off in the same game for two bookings, bringing a one-match suspension. He will miss the trip to Sevilla, and will be available for the derby.

Both dismissals followed protests at the penalty awarded against Yuri Berchiche for handball during a tussle with Muriqi, an incident that angered the Athletic players.

The rulings further deplete a squad already stretched by injuries.
