It has been a promising start to the campaign from Grant Scott' side, who also enjoyed their second home win in Kirkintilloch.

Speaking in the aftermath of the 2-0 win, the Celtic manager said: “First and foremost, delighted with the three points. I think Hibs are a strong side.

"There's been a lot said about the players they have lost, but make no bones about it, they're still organised, and have a good core of players and new players that are coming in who look good quality.

“So, that's a good result but I didn't think it was a perfect performance.

‘First and foremost, the overriding thing at the minute is, it's another good win, another three points.’

“It's early days and we can't get carried away. I think it's good signs and nothing more than that.

“I probably don't think we've put together a complete performance yet, and that's definitely not an arrogance thing for me. There's always learnings to take and you saw it yourselves.

“The first 20 minutes against Glasgow City were not so good and we took a while to break down Montrose.

“We were a bit flustered for the first 20 minutes today and probably invited Hibs in on top of us a little bit much later in the game as well.

“So it's a good start, but we're focused on the next one, and that's all we'll talk about all week.”
