Juan Nardoni is back from injury and could be included for Thursday’s decisive Gre-Nal at the Arena in the Copa do Brasil quarter-final second leg. The expectation is that he will not start.

According to Globo.com, the midfielder had been sidelined with a right knee strain diagnosed about two weeks ago. His last appearance came in the 3-0 defeat to Atlético-MG on 16 August, when he was replaced at half-time.

Grêmio have not released new training images of Nardoni at CT Luiz Carvalho. In the build-up to the clássico, the club have reduced photos and training updates compared with other weeks.

Conversely, there are at least two doubts for the derby. Jovane Cabral felt muscular discomfort during the warm-up before facing Chapecoense and did not play, while right-back Diego Caito, also absent on Sunday, has a left shoulder injury and remains in treatment this week.

Probable XI for the clássico: Weverton, Pavon, Gustavo Martins, Wallace, Marlon, Noriega, Villasanti, Krovinovic, Enamorado (Tetê), Carlos Vinicius and Amuzu.

Grêmio meet Inter from 20:00. The first leg ended 0-0, so a winner in normal time will progress, and if it is level again the tie will be decided on penalties.
