The transfer window closes on Friday. Grêmio have moved for Cebolinha as Flamengo weigh potential exits. His deal runs to December 2026 and will not be renewed, so he can sign a pre-contract and is not expected to play for the Rubro-Negro again.
ESPN reports that Grêmio have changed strategy and are making a push to bring him back. Any agreement would require the winger to reduce his salary demands.
Cebolinha is out of Flamengo’s trip to Independiente del Valle on Thursday, the first leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals at 21:30 Brasília time in Ecuador. Earlier in the week, before the flight, the club excused him to deal with personal matters and he returned to Rio de Janeiro.
Krasnodar are also in contention and have resumed talks, which could reach a positive conclusion in the coming days.
This season he has made 25 appearances and scored three. Despite recent minutes, the number 11 has lost his place under Leonardo Jardim.
He joined Flamengo in June 2022 from Benfica and is in his fifth season. In February he said the board had not contacted him about renewing, and Santos and Botafogo later made enquiries. His priority is a move abroad, with Russia open until 10 September and Portugal and Greece until 15, while his camp assess scenarios.
