Haiti will take on Morocco in their final Group C match on Wednesday at the Atalanta Stadium.
Even though Haiti have already been eliminated from the World Cup, they will still aim to put in a strong performance and play for pride.
Haiti have had a difficult tournament. They lost 1–0 to Scotland in their opening match and were then comfortably beaten 3–0 by Brazil, results that ended their chances of progressing to the knockout stage.
Before the tournament began, Haiti had mixed results in their friendlies, including a 4–0 win over New Zealand and a 2–1 defeat to Peru.
Head coach Sébastien Migné is dealing with several squad issues ahead of this final game.
Leverton Pierre has already been ruled out for the rest of the tournament due to injury. Additionally, their top scorer Duckens Nazon is a doubt for this match because of a physical problem, which adds further concern to their attacking options.
Given these challenges and the need to finish strongly, Migné is expected to change tactics. After using a defensive 5-4-1 setup against Brazil, Haiti are likely to switch to a more attacking 4-4-2 formation.
This change should see Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor come into the starting lineup to partner Frantzdy Pierrot in attack, as they look to challenge Morocco’s defense more aggressively.
Possible Haiti starting XI: Placide; Arcus, Delcroix, Ade, Experience; Deedson, Bellegarde, Jean Jacques, Providence; Isidor, Pierrot
The match will kick off at 11pm BST on Wednesday, 24th June.
