FC Barcelona are set to slightly adjust their usual matchday routine ahead of their final La Liga fixture of the year against Villarreal at La Cerámica this Sunday.

Under normal circumstances, the Blaugranes follow a fixed schedule before league games, with a training session at 11:00 in the morning followed by Hansi Flick addressing the media at 13:00. While changes are sometimes made for Champions League fixtures, domestic matches tend to follow a predictable pattern.

This weekend, however, the preparation will look different. As reported by SPORT, the final training session on Saturday will be moved from the morning to the afternoon. Flick has held his press conference at the customary time, but the squad will train immediately afterwards at the Ciutat Esportiva.

The reason behind the adjustment is logistical. Once training is completed, the Barcelona delegation will travel to Castellón and spend the night there.

With kickoff scheduled for 16:15 on Sunday, the coaching staff has opted to travel a day earlier in order to minimise fatigue, avoid last-minute complications, and ensure optimal preparation.

The decision reflects Flick’s focus on maintaining control over every detail during a demanding period of the season. Villarreal away has traditionally been a challenging fixture, and Barcelona are keen to close out the year with a positive result and three more points in the league.

Despite the altered routine, the coaching staff remains confident that the change will not disrupt the players and that the team will be ready to deliver a strong performance on Sunday afternoon.
