Héctor Fort is at Anoeta, the Barcelona defender watching Real Sociedad’s game against Espanyol from a hospitality box. His transfer has not yet been made official.

According to Diario Vasco, the club are expected to announce the deal once the match has finished. Following this week’s loan arrival of Mamadou Sarr, Fort would be the second addition in a late window, giving Matarazzo further options for the new season.

The Catalan full-back is joining from Barcelona, with Real Sociedad to pay 8.5 million euros for 60% of his rights. Unlike Sarr’s loan, the club will hold the majority share of Fort’s registration.

Fort was at Camp Nou on Thursday for the meeting between his former side and Athletic Club. Once confirmed, he would be available to link up with the squad.

Last season he spent time on loan at Elche, playing 17 matches across the league and Copa del Rey, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He suffered a dislocation to his left shoulder late last year, which sidelined him for more than three months.
