Hervé Renard ‘to succeed’ Emerse Faé as Côte d'Ivoire coach

Hervé Renard is being lined up to succeed Emerse Faé with Côte d'Ivoire, according to Le Parisien. The 57-year-old is available after a brief interim in charge of Tunisia at the 2026 World Cup.

He is close to returning to a post he knows well. Renard led Côte d'Ivoire to the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2015.

Among the most in-demand free national-team coaches, he is said to have chosen Côte d'Ivoire.

With 2027 AFCON the target, the Ivorian set-up and its president, Idriss Diallo, have decided to move on from Emerse Faé and open a new chapter with the coach who delivered their second continental crown.

Renard also won the tournament with Zambia in 2012, three years before his last spell with the Elephants.
