Hicham Boudaoui could leave Nice for Monaco as a joker signing, with the option remaining live once Monaco complete several exits.
According to L'Équipe, Monaco want the Algeria international after the collapsed move for Erik Lira and with Pape Cabral expected to head to Saudi Arabia. The plan depends on outgoings, including Cabral, Alexandre Golovine and potentially another squad member.
Nice’s summer has been heavy on departures, with 17 first team players leaving. Two more could yet follow, although shedding the salary of Salis Abdul Samed, 26, contracted until June 2028, is far from guaranteed.
Head coach Olivier Pantaloni said on Thursday that Boudaoui, 26 and under contract for one more year, is back preparing with the group after training apart, and that any departure has been set aside for now.
His proposed move to Al-Ittihad, which had been well advanced, fell through after the Saudi club signed Richard Rios from Benfica. The Monaco route remains active, but ASM must first move players out before potentially contacting their neighbours.
