So far, he has been very much utilised as cover for both Gabriel Gudmundsson and Jayden Bogle. Justin's ambipedal nature means that he can operate comfortably on either the left or right.

Last season, Leeds United played Sam Byram as a right or left-back, but Justin has usurped him as Daniel Farke's go-to in as a substitute, having only started one of his nine games so far for Leeds.

Meanwhile, Leicester City had enough depth in the full-back area to allow Justin to move on. They have had Ricardo Pereira, Hamza Choudhury, Victor Kristiansen, Luke Thomas, and youngsters like Olabade Aluko feature there in his absence.

In that sense, it's fair to say Marti Cifuentes hasn't missed Justin. Also, according to The Telegraph's Mike McGrath, Leicester could earn up to £10 million from this deal if all add-ons are met.

The former Luton Town defender turns 28 in February, meaning that this could well be his last big career move left. He chose to remain in the Premier League by penning a four-year deal at Elland Road.

But just how much of an increase did he see to his weekly wage? We've taken a look at his previous contract with the Foxes and how it compares to his current situation in West Yorkshire.

On top of bringing in around £8-10 million from the deal, Leicester have saved financially on Justin. Per estimates from Capology, Justin was paid £30,000 per week at the King Power Stadium.

His wages have increased somewhat at Elland Road, with the 49ers said to be paying Justin £35,000 per week after signing. That is £1.82 million per year and will be paid for four years.

Justin was in the final year of his contract at Leicester, and they have saved themselves from paying £1.56 million in full for 2025/26 by sanctioning his move north to Leeds.

Daniel Farke's view of James Justin signing for Leeds from Leicester

This may well be looked back on as a rare transfer deal which is best for all parties involved, even if Justin is third in the full-back pecking order currently. Leicester are struggling but that is not due to Justin's exit.

Speaking in October in a pre-match press conference, Farke explained his feelings about the addition of Justin to his Leeds ranks. He said: “Also proved in the last game why we so desperate to sign James Justin, a proven Premier League player. To come into this game without a warm-up, and to defend a guy like Jarrod Bowen.

“Justin never knows if he comes in on the left or right, he can play both positions, he’s pretty versatile, so important for us. He’s put his mark down and shown he is capable of playing absolutely solid at this level.

"I loved how mature he was, you couldn’t see anything dropping in our standards. James proved a lot why we were so desperate to sign him, top character and top player for us.”
