Reds still without a fit right-back ahead of cup clash
Arne Slot’s men have been in impressive form of late in spite of their growing injury headaches.
The Reds will be without four defenders for the Seagulls’ visit, including both right-backs, Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley.
He has employed a variety of deputies there this season, but his latest option, Wataru Endo, suffered a serious injury in a midweek defeat of Sunderland.
“We still need to do some assessment but it is clear and obvious that he will be out for quite a long time,” Slot said of Endo ahead of the match. “You can hardly believe what this right full-back position brings us this season."
It remains to be seen who will get the nod at right-back on Sunday. Joe Gomez is not yet thought to be fully match fit, having recently returned from an injury of his own, but Dominik Szoboszlai is available again after serving a red card suspension.
Liverpool will fancy their chances against Brighton, though, as the Seagulls visit Anfield having won just two of their last 15 matches.
