Ilaix Moriba returned to Mestalla with a statement display, leading Celta’s ratings after scoring his first of the season and creating another. AS notes these evaluations after a tense afternoon transformed by a half-time switch.

Radu parried André Almeida just before 1-0, when Guido Rodríguez struck after Carreira’s clearance kept the ball in play. Javi Rodríguez’s heavy touch allowed Ramazani to pounce, he was booked, and Giráldez removed him at the break, with a ban ruling him out against Oviedo.

The coach shifted from three-four-three to four-three-three, using El-Abdellaoui wide on the right. Fer López replaced the ineffective Pablo Durán and Hugo Álvarez was forced off after an accidental tangle with Unai Núñez. Mingueza switched flanks later and briefly lost a dangerous ball with the score at 1-3.

Ilaix levelled for 1-1 after Jutglà, found by Fer López, squared following a Swedberg effort. Swedberg then outfoxed Guido to set up Fer López for the second, before finishing himself for 1-3 from Ilaix’s measured pass past Dimitrievski.

Hugo Sotelo kept play tidy, while Carreira’s consistency again stood out across both flanks. Marcos Alonso was assured despite an early booking, Hugo Duro tried to draw a second caution without success. Jutglà was busy but lacked end product.

Aidoo’s afternoon grew awkward once Hugo Duro departed, Sadiq’s late surge saw him concede a foul that gave Valencia a stoppage-time set-piece to equalise. Borja Iglesias helped Celta manage the game with his back-to-goal work, conserved after missing the starting line-up to stay fresh for Germany. Yoel Lago arrived on 88 minutes during the final push, Radu otherwise had little to do.
