Millwall's star man Mihailo Ivanovic made the move last summer from his native homeland, Serbia, when playing for Vojvodina last summer and became a hit at the Den after ending the season as the club's top goalscorer with 12 Championship goals.

It took some time for the 20-year-old to find his feet in English football after arriving in East London as the Lions invested £2.8m in their, at the time, club record transfer. The Serbian forward capped off the season in fine form with him being viewed as a player who was well worth the money.

After a slow start last season, Ivanovic has seemed to replicate that in the 2025/26 campaign as it has been an inconsistent start for both the player and club. Millwall currently sit 13th in the table with seven points after five games, with the forward merely registering one assist during an impressive performance and victory over Sheffield United.

But as for goals, Ivanovic is yet to find the net, and will be desperate to get off the goalscoring mark sooner rather than later otherwise early concerns could grow stronger.

The Serbian had a busy summer with plenty of transfer speculation surrounding his name going on in the background, with Premier League clubs showing a keen interest in his signature.

According to Football Insider, Everton and Wolves were two of the clubs interested in Ivanovic over the summer, but a deal didn't come to fruition as Millwall were keen to keep their star striker. With a big fee on the cards, the Lions may live to regret not cashing in while Ivanovic's stock was high if he doesn't pick up form... and fast.

Football League World's Millwall fan pundit, Lucas Ball, is sure that the Serbian will come good soon and has no concerns in the early stages of the season.

"I think with Ivanovic it's fine. He's played well in a couple of games. His performances in others haven't been brilliant, but that's natural, he's a young player."

"He's joined a new agency over the summer and his agent is clearly pushing for different things, so I think that's where a lot of the interest stemmed from over the summer, and then talk about the fact that we haven't offered him a new deal, which we have, I think again, all stems from his agent, and I don't necessarily think they're doing the best things for him, but that's fine - to a degree."

"He's a young player who clearly enjoys playing for the club, and Alex Neil likes him and rates him highly."

With Ivanovic without a goal in the opening five matches of the season, it has created cause for concern, with the Lions also merely finding the net four times as a collective. However, FLW's Millwall fan pundit, Lucas, believes that it's only a matter of time before things start clicking into gear for the Serbian as well as the rest of the attack.

Lucas said: "First half last night, for example, he played really well and was perhaps unlucky with a couple of decisions that didn't go his way. I think I would've given him a little bit longer than just the first half, but with the amount of injuries we've got, you can't blame Alex Neil for not wanting to take a risk with one of his key men."

"He needs to hopefully get off the mark soon and that'll be a massive boost for us, and the club, and his confidence, but I'm not too worried overall. He's a young player still, and his form will peak and trough at times and particularly with centre-forwards, and our service lines into him this season haven't necessarily been the best either."

"We've had a lot of shots in games and a very low shot conversion percentage, but I'm not actually sure how many good, clear-cut opportunities I would say Ivanovic has missed. So I think it's natural for a youngster, and I don't think we'll regret not cashing in at all."

"He's a key part of what we want to try and do this season and will continue to be, and the fans' frustrations certainly would've been known had Ivanovic been sold after Tanganga left late in the window as well."
