Internacional host Santos in the Brasileirão on Sunday, 6 September 2026, at Estádio José Pinheiro Borda in Porto Alegre, with the hosts trying to climb out of the relegation places and the visitors aiming to consolidate a mid-table position.
Internacional and Santos have shared a draw-heavy recent record, with 51% of past meetings ending level, although the March league game finished 2-1 to Internacional away from home.
Inter arrive winless in five across competitions after three straight draws were followed by defeats to Bahia and Grêmio. Peixe have taken points in four of their last five, including an away win at Corinthians and draws around a cup tie with Palmeiras.
Colorado are without goalkeeper Sergio Rochet through injury, while defender Victor Gabriel is suspended and forward Kayky is sidelined. Alvinegro Praiano must reshuffle at the back with Lucas Veríssimo suspended, and creator Alvaro Barreal is also banned. Midfielder Gabriel Menino plus youngsters Mateus Xavier, Vinicius Lira and Pepê Fermino are out injured.
Inter have scored 26 league goals to Santos' 34, and they attempt more shots overall, so Johan Carbonero's six-goal haul could be central if the hosts turn volume into efficiency. For the visitors, Gabriel Barbosa sits among the league's leading scorers with eight, while Neymar has added six. That front-line quality could decide transitions if Peixe find space.
Colorado sit 18th on 25 points and a win would lift them towards safety. Peixe are 14th on 29 points with a game in hand. Victory would take them to 32 and could nudge them towards the top half.
