Real Zaragoza said in a statement that they have signed Rubén Iranzo on a three-year contract from Valencia, a permanent deal with Valencia retaining a percentage of his rights. He becomes the 14th signing, though the tally stands at 13 after Hansson left for personal reasons.

The 23-year-old centre-back stands 1.82 metres and can also play at right-back. He has been capped at Under-19 level.

A Valencia academy graduate, he made his first-team debut on 20 December 2021 against Levante, then featured at Mestalla the following matchday. Last season he scored his first senior goal in the Copa tie against Burgos and has 12 first-team appearances while also turning out for Valencia Mestalla in Segunda RFEF.

Iranzo visited the training ground this morning and will work under Ibai Gómez for the first time on Thursday. He will be available for Sunday’s league opener against Nástic at the Nou Estadi and could even start due to the absence of Diego González.

Zaragoza still need to add a right-back and a winger to replace Hansson to all but finalise the squad, pending any departures or late market opportunities.
