Italian Side Check What’s Needed To Sign Nottingham Forest Attacker | OneFootball

Serie A side Como have ‘explored the conditions’ that would be needed in order to sign Nottingham Forest attacker Arnaud Kalimuendo.

Kalimuendo arrived at Nottingham Forest from Rennes in August 2025, with the Premier League club paying £25m to secure the French striker on a five-year deal.

However, opportunities were limited for the 24-year-old at the City Ground, prompting Forest to send him to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan during the winter window in search of more regular first-team football.

The 24-year-old had an impressive spell with the German side, but despite their interest, Eintracht Frankfurt did not secure the striker permanently as the option-to-buy price was deemed too high.

However, the Bundesliga outfit have been continuing their work to bring back the Frenchman on another loan deal.

Kalimuendo was also being considered as an alternative to Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee by Fiorentina.

A move back to Eintracht Frankfurt could well be unlikely given the late stage of the window, while Fiorentina are signing Beto from Everton.

The Forest hitman could potentially have an option in Italy though as, according to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, Como also have ‘explored the conditions’ needed for Kalimuendo.

Despite having four years left on his contract with the Tricky Trees, the French striker could be on his way out of the City Ground outfit during the final stretch of the summer transfer window.

Joining Como could well appeal massively to him given that they have an ambitious project and are in the Champions League.

However, whether Como were pleased with what they heard about the costs needed to sign Kalimuendo is unclear.

Now, at a late stage of the window, time is running out for clubs to do a deal with Nottingham Forest to land him.

Kalimuendo had a good loan stint at Eintracht Frankfurt and, if that possibility does emerge late on in deadline day, he could well favour it.

For Forest, they will want any terms to be right before a departure is sanctioned.
