Ivan Toney has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm after an alleged incident at a central London nightclub.

According to Hounslow Herald, the striker, who now plays in the Saudi Pro League, is accused of assaulting a man at a Wardour Street venue in Soho on 6 December 2025. He was charged on 31 July and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 24 September.

A spokesperson said he acknowledges the charge, is naturally shocked, and looks forward to the chance to clear his name in court.

Toney spent four seasons at Brentford after joining from Peterborough United in 2020. He scored a Championship record 31 league goals in 2020-21, then added two in the play-offs to seal promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club's history.

Of his 72 Brentford goals, 36 came in the Premier League, including 20 in the 2022-23 campaign. He served an eight-month suspension in 2023 after admitting 232 breaches of the Football Association's betting rules, returning to action in January 2024.

After representing England at Euro 2024, he moved to Al-Ahli in August 2024. He was named in Thomas Tuchel's 2026 World Cup squad, but did not feature.
