Jauregizar leads Athletic ratings as Sancet’s penalty wins it at Oviedo | OneFootball

Jauregizar was Athletic’s standout in Oviedo, his second-half strike sparking the fightback before Oihan Sancet converted the decisive penalty. According to El Correo, the visitors raised their level after a flat first half at the Tartiere.

Ilyas had earlier fired the hosts ahead in a one-on-one, Unai Simón powerless to stop it. The move exposed the right side, with Gorosabel burned for pace and Paredes caught out, arriving only once the ball was in the net. Simón was largely untroubled after the interval.

Galarreta was booked on 25 minutes, his 10th of the league season, and withdrawn on the hour. He will serve a second suspension against Elche under Eder Sarabia. After Mikel Vesga came on, the winning penalty arrived and he helped repel Oviedo’s late efforts.

Areso offered assertive minutes at right-back. Guruzeta laboured as an isolated figure and was cautioned. Serrano was replaced at half-time by Robert Navarro, who made little impact, while Rego tracked Cazorla and was booked and Unai Gómez only featured in stoppage time.
