In the video she appeared in tears, describing her time at Tigres as joyful yet the farewell as difficult, and calling the experience the best thing that had happened in her life.

She joined Tigres in January 2024 after one and a half years with Pachuca in Mexico.

The 36-year-old has previously played for Atlético de Madrid, FC Barcelona and PSG.

Her departure comes three years after the Luis Rubiales case that deeply affected her career and Spanish football. Following Spain’s 2023 World Cup win, Rubiales, then federation president, kissed Hermoso on the lips without her consent during the medal ceremony, sparking global outrage and leading to his resignation. In February 2025 a Madrid court found him guilty of sexual assault.
