Jordan Teze ‘to remain’ at Monaco as Everton move for Ainsley Maitland-Niles

According to Nice-Matin, AS Monaco full-back Jordan Teze, 26, is expected to remain with Filipe Luis’s Principality side after interest from Everton.

Everton have instead opted to sign Lyon’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles in a €5m deal. The former Arsenal right-back was into the final months of his Lyon contract.

David Moyes’s team had explored a loan for Teze to cover shortcomings at right-back.

Monaco’s management have vetoed an exit for the Dutch defender, whose versatility is valued by the Ligue 1 side.

Monaco are the only team in the French top tier with a 100% record after opening wins over Le Havre and Olympique de Marseille. They visit PSG on Friday.
