Right-back JP Chermont has been unveiled by Sharjah FC after his sale by Santos. According to Diario Do Peixe, the transfer is valued at 3.5 million dollars, 2.5 million guaranteed plus a further 1 million in targets.

The package equates to about R$ 18 million, yet Santos expect to bank significantly less. His loan to Coritiba, which had run to the end of the year, has been rescinded, and the Paraná club is due a 10% showcase fee.

Santos owned 75% of his economic rights. The player relinquished 5%, taking the club’s share to 80%, and it expects to receive roughly R$ 9 million.

The 19-year-old had impressed at Coritiba and drawn overseas attention. Offers for a loan with a 3 million euros option to buy from København and Ajax were rejected, and Ajax later bid the same figure for a permanent deal. Chelsea proposed 6 million euros last year, but Santos sought 10 million and nothing progressed.

Chermont debuted for Santos in the 2024 Paulistão against Inter de Limeira, later becoming a regular in the Série B campaign. He had been under contract to Santos until the end of 2027. Born in Bauru in 2005, he joined Santos in 2018 and was part of Brazil’s Under-17 South American triumph in 2023.
