Olympique Lyonnais are pushing to sign Stade de Reims winger Keito Nakamura (26), with the Japanese international forward having given his approval to a move, according to Foot Mercato. Lyon have identified Nakamura as a potential replacement for Malick Fofana (21), who looks set to join Sunderland. The French side are now looking to accelerate negotiations and complete a deal before the transfer window closes.
The 26-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Reims, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in the league. He has also established himself as a regular for Japan, featuring at the World Cup this summer. Nakamura remains under contract with Reims until June 2028, although he has a negotiated agreement allowing him to leave following the club’s relegation to Ligue 2. Reims were previously seeking around €25m for his departure.
With Nakamura reportedly keen on the move, negotiations between all parties are progressing well as Lyon work to finalise their attacking reinforcement.
