Lyon are pushing to sign Stade de Reims winger Keito Nakamura, and Foot Mercato reports that the Japan international forward has approved the move.

Lyon have identified Nakamura as a potential replacement for Malick Fofana, 21, who looks set to join Sunderland. The club are aiming to accelerate negotiations and complete a deal before the window closes.

Nakamura, 26, enjoyed a strong 2025/26 with Reims, scoring 14 league goals and providing three assists.

He has established himself for Japan, featuring at the World Cup this summer.

He remains under contract at Reims until June 2028, but a negotiated agreement allows him to leave following their relegation to Ligue 2.

Reims were previously seeking around €25m for his departure. Talks between the parties are progressing as Lyon look to finalise their attacking addition.
