Lyon have agreed a deal to sign Keito Nakamura from Reims on an initial paid loan with an obligation to buy, as they move to replace Malick Fofana.
According to L'Équipe, the clubs struck terms on Tuesday afternoon for a loan fee of two million euros and an obligation to buy of about 11 million euros, excluding bonuses.
Nakamura, a 26-year-old left winger, has two years remaining on his Reims contract and the club had not initially planned to sell him.
The Japanese winger is travelling to Lyon to undergo a medical.
His arrival remains dependent on Fofana completing his transfer to Crystal Palace.
