Lecce winger Lameck Banda left hospital in time to see his daughter born in Lecce after collapsing during Saturday's Serie A match in Naples.

The Zambian international went down suddenly at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium late on, with Napoli winning 2-1. He felt unwell and was hit in the abdomen, then was stretchered off and taken to Cardarelli Hospital, according to L'Équipe. He quickly regained consciousness.

After leaving the emergency department, the 25-year-old travelled the 400km to the city of Lecce in Puglia.

There, he witnessed the birth of his daughter, Rumi Ezlyn, over the weekend.

The club saluted the new father on their social media after an emotionally charged weekend.
