Lazio ‘to hold’ further talks with free agent Icardi | OneFootball

Lazio have reopened talks to sign free agent Mauro Icardi, with negotiations restarting in recent hours, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Icardi’s agent acknowledged discussions with the Biancocelesti at the end of August. The Argentine is now open to joining on a free transfer.

Further talks will take place in the coming hours, including with coach Gennaro Gattuso.

Although the Serie A window is closed, Icardi could still sign because he is without a club after Galatasaray decided against extending his deal beyond June 2026.

The 33-year-old previously played in Serie A for Sampdoria and Inter, scoring 121 goals in 219 league appearances. He left Inter for PSG in 2020, then moved to Galatasaray two years later, where he netted 77 in 134 games.
