Lazio are working on a revised proposal for Andrea Pinamonti after further talks with Sassuolo, with their opening package reported to have been rejected.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the centre-forward’s agent held fresh discussions with Lazio as the parties try to find terms that would convince Sassuolo.

Il Messaggero and Tuttomercatoweb suggest the first bid, a €one million loan with an €eight million option to buy, was turned down, with Sassuolo seeking about €four and a half million upfront.

Pinamonti has remained Gennaro Gattuso’s preferred target, though costs pushed Lazio to consider free agents Mauro Icardi and Bamba Dieng. Icardi is said to have declined, while Dieng failed a medical due to a knee issue.

Any loan with option would also require Sassuolo to extend Pinamonti’s contract, which runs to June 2027.

Also linked with Fiorentina and Hull City, the 27-year-old is eager to join Lazio and work with Gattuso. An Inter academy graduate, he has previously featured for Frosinone, Genoa, Empoli and Sassuolo.
