Leeds boss Farke on Mudryk links and transfer latest | OneFootball

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has responded to his side being linked with a loan move for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

Elland Road is being considered as a destination for the Ukraine international after being cleared to return to football. The 25-year-old missed the entirety of last season after being handed a doping ban. However, he was cleared to return to action last month after his case was resolved.

“There’s always a lot of noise, especially around Leeds United,” Farke answered when asked about Mudryk. “You get the feeling that each and every agent tries to use our name sometimes in order to speak about his player.

“Because Leeds is a very big club, well-known club and passionate club. Sometimes we are linked with players and I’ve never heard their name.

“Of course I know Mudryk, there is not doubt about him as a really good player. But like always I never comment on any speculation or any other players for other teams. So for that, no comment from me in public about this topic.

“I would also expect no one from other clubs to comment on my players. So out of respect I will never give comments on players that are currently playing for other clubs.”

The Whites kicked off the Premier League season with an impressive away win over Nottingham Forest. Nevertheless, the Leeds boss insisted that they will remain active across the final days of the transfer window.

“We’ve made no secret out of this,” maintained the German coach. “We want to give this club the best possible squad. For that, until the last second we stay awake.

“We work with limited resources because we want to work sustainably. We proved this last season, not overspending and also during this season’s transfer window.

“I’m pretty happy with our business so far. It’s not like we have spent like some other clubs. We want to make sure that we don’t just gamble on one season. We want to work sustainably.”
