With days remaining in January, Leeds United remain active in the market after pulling clear of the relegation zone. Daniel Farke’s side hold an eight-point cushion and have added Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, plus academy signing Leonard Ngenge from Remo Stars FC.

Another striker is being explored, with a centre-forward among priorities, and defensive cover also possible. Leeds have been linked with a £20m move for Derby County forward Patrick Agyemang, but the Derby Telegraph reports neither Leeds nor Crystal Palace have made an approach and Derby do not intend to sell this month.

Palace’s situation could influence the picture, as Jean-Philippe Mateta has 18 months left on his deal and interest in his services, creating overlap in targets.

Leeds also showed late interest in Harry Wilson last summer before a move fell through and he continued at Fulham. The 28-year-old has been in fine form and his contract expires this summer. TEAMtalk suggests Leeds could try again if an opportunity arises, with Everton also credited with interest.

Farke did not want to discuss a transfer for Wilson when Leeds faced Fulham, but he expressed long-standing admiration. He recalled trying to sign Wilson at Norwich and described him as a player Leeds had to be very aware of.
